Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society supports International Day of the Seafarer

The Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society is proud to support International Day of the Seafarer (25 June).

This year’s Day of the Seafarer pays tribute to seafarers, acknowledging their sacrifice and the issues they face, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

​Many seafarers have been away from home for a significant period of time and are unsure when they will be able to return due to travel restrictions.

This year’s campaign is encouraging everyone to treat seafarers with the respect and dignity they deserve so that they can continue to provide their vital services to keep world trade moving.
