SS Trojan Prince (1896-1917)
SS Trojan Prince was a British passenger and cargo ship of 3,273 tonnes. Built in 1896 by Readhead John & Sons Ltd., South Shields, she was owned by Prince Line Ltd., London, at the time of her loss.
On 25 September 1897, she started her first voyage from New York to Naples, Genoa, Leghorn, Genoa, Naples and New York.
On February 23, whilst bound for Alexandria, Trojan Prince was torpedoed and sunk five miles NW of Point Shershel. Sadly, two people lost their lives.
