Society launches 2025 photography competition!
The Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society is once again on the lookout for photographers to participate in its annual competition, celebrating the UK’s and Ireland’s rich maritime heritage. Now in its thirteenth year, the competition seeks captivating images that reflect the British Isles’ enduring connection with the sea, including its merchant ships, fishermen, coasts, harbours, and ports.
We welcome photographers of all abilities to capture breathtaking seascapes for their collections, with the grand prize of a £1,000 photographic equipment voucher. Submissions can be made via the Society’s website using the dedicated entry form or through our Instagram channel (@ShipwreckedMariners) by using the hashtag #SMSPhotoComp2025.
