SS Clan Shaw (1902-1917)
The British steamer SS Clan Shaw was built in 1902 by Doxford W. & Sons, Sunderland, and at the time of her loss was owned by Clan Line Steamers Ltd, London.
On 23 January 1917, Clan Shaw, on a voyage from Chittagong & Calcutta to Dundee with a cargo of jute, was sunk by a mine from a German U-boat captained by Ernst Rosenow, eight miles NE of St. Andrews. Sadly, two people lost their lives.
