Sylvia has been our Honorary Agent since 2011, having taken over from her late husband who was himself an Honorary Agent for over 45 years.
An amazingly dedicated fundraiser, she regularly works with Beer Congregational Church to raise funds for the Society, whilst also overseeing the management of one of our large collecting mines. Of particular note, during 2018 she worked with her son Kim, as well as a wide team of very kind local supporters, to completely refurbish an abandoned and derelict mine which had been found in Dawlish Warren. This involved a massive amount of work, including transporting it, sand blasting it and subsequently restoring it to its former glory.
Her efforts over many years have helped raise thousands of pounds for the Society, thereby providing essential funds to continue our very important work supporting seafarers and their families who are in need.
As an exceptionally committed supporter of the Society, Sylvia is thoroughly deserving of special recognition for her long standing and dedicated efforts.
